It all begins with an idea.

Craig Isaac was born and raised in Montreal, Canada and enjoyed the pleasures of spending summers playing baseball, golf, and hockey in the winter. He was able to develop a joy of pulling apart objects and combining other materials to create new uses.

With a BA in Architecture in ‘83 and a 6 year apprenticeship, Craig became a licensed Architect and established Craig W Isaac Architecture 1990. After many years of residential renovation/ additions, new homes, and Accessory units, it became clear that an affordable solution was needed for flex spaces with the hope to help with homeless housing.

MorHaus was developed as an efficient modular solution to both accessible and more restrictive sites, for expanding footprints.

FAQs

DO YOU NEED A BUILDING PERMIT FOR THESE STRUCTURES?

In Charlotte any Building with a length over 12′ or 144 Sq Ft in area (Mor16) requires a building permit and over 400 Sq Ft requires Residential Plan Review. A Mor8 & 12 generally should require only a Zoning use permit which will define how close you can site it to a property line.

DOES IT NEED FOOTINGS?

We recommend 4×4 treated wood posts w/ 4×6 treated wood girder for raised applications and concrete sonotubes for “at grade” as methods to tie the buildings down and avoid uplift in serious wind locations.
